Favorites win in girls' 6A Regional finals
It was if everyone got the memo on Saturday that the favorites were supposed to win on Saturday in the 6A Girls Regional finals.
In the West, No. 2 Midwest City downed Westmoore, 60-46.
No. 4 Del City beat Eisenhower, 53-40.
No. 5 Norman won easily against Choctaw, 58-41.
In the winner's bracket of the Area tourney, which begins on Friday, Midwest City will meet No. 8 Putnam City, while Norman and Del City will battle.
Choctaw and Eisenhower will meet, as will Westmoore and Lawton, in the Area losers' bracket on Thursday.
In the East, No. 1 Sapulpa walked over Bartlesville, 53-17 and No. 7 Claremore beat Tulsa Memorial.
No. 3 Union beat Edmond North, 58-43, and No. 6 Owasso edged Edmond Memorial, 40-33.
Sapulpa and Claremore will play each other, while Union will mix it up with Owasso in the Area winners' bracket games on Thursday.
Bartlesville and Tulsa Memorial will meet in the losers' bracket.
The two Edmond schools, North and Memorial, will face each other the other losers' bracket contest.
The neutral sites for the Area games will be determined by the OSSAA.
