Lady Dogs edge Edmond
North
It was opening night of the
girls’ basketball season for Edmond North as they visited Edmond Memorial.
Memorial opened a 12-2 lead
midway through the opening period before North could catch their breath. But
the Lady Huskies fought back and managed to tie the game early in the next
quarter.
The game was tied two more
times and there were two lead changes in that period.
The tight battle continued
into the second half as the Bulldogs opened a small lead several times, only
to see the Huskies fight back.
Early in the fourth
quarter, Memorial started to pull away and opened a 7-point lead on field
goal by Emma Butler and an assist from Taylor Anderson.
Holding a 7-point lead with
less than three minutes remaining in the contest, Memorial began playing a
delay game as they held on for a 58-48 win.
