Penalties do not stop the Huskies
Edmond North overcame 100 yards in penalties to
gain a victory over Stillwater.
The win evened the Huskies record at 2-2, but
left them unbeaten in District competition.
North scored first on a 2-yard run by Joe Aska
and added a pair of field goals by Brett Perry to take a 13-0 lead.
The Pioneers countered with a touchdown on a
12-yard pass from Lane White to Grant Field.
The Huskies led 13-7 at halftime.
Stillwater gained the lead in the third period
on anice 45-yard run by Chris Perry for a touchdown.
The Huskies answered with a touchdown drive of
their own that eneded with a 7-yard run by Roy Finch, their leading rusher.
North, leading 19-14, attempted a 2-point
conversion after the touchdown.
Casey Goben tossed the ball to Wade McLanahan
for the score, which game the Huskies a 21-14 lead, which held through the
remainder of the game.
